Kiri Dell (Ngāti Porou) examined the cultural, economic and psychological impact of land loss on Maori to elucidate why the management of Maori land is rife with conflict and challenge. Kiri’s penetrating analyses of interview data generates unique insights into the intergenerational impact of colonisation. Her resultant framework “Whenua beings” offers practical solutions for progressing Maori land development. Kiri Dell is a Research Fellow who works for the Department of Property for The University of Auckland. She teaches in Māori Land issues, Māori Economy and Entrepreneurship. Research interests include Māori land development, Indigenous economic advancement and global opportunities for Māori. |
